GHS President presented Residential Fire Detection: What’s Possible to the attendees at the National Association of State Fire Marshals Annual Conference in St. Petersburg, FL. The 2014 NASFM President’s Hall of Fame Award sponsored by GHS was given to Texas State Fire Marshal Chris Connealy during the annual conference. The banquet was held at the Indiana Roof Ballroom and saw the Norman Minetta Award presented as well as the new Board of Directors sworn in. Each year GHS Companies sponsors the Fire Service Award for Excellence. This award, created in 1989, recognizes innovations and achievements in managing resources to reduce the loss of life and property from fire and other emergencies. Due to many changes in the environment, a Task Force has been convened to identify ways to distinguish fire service achievement in this area and move this important recognition forward. This award is presented at the annual convention of the International Association of Fire Chiefs.
